Gadget Caring Tips

Can you think of a single day without a gadget? From Cell phone to Laptop, Desktop, Television, washing machine, fridge, oven, every now and then we are dependent on them.  They all are our usual and inevitable part of our daily life. So importance of taking care of them is beyond any question. And it is also true that if they are not properly taken care of, you may face hardship in managing your periodical budget.

Lets us have some tips on taking care of these gadgets:

Computer:

• Unplug before you start to clean your computer. Use soft clean damp cotton cloth to clean your monitor. 
• Watch out for the excess water in the cloth that may drip – this can cause short circuit and damage the gadget permanently. 
•  To clean up the LCD/LED monitors, use soft and dry cloth. If your LED or LCD monitor is tainted with finger print or such, you can use LCD/LED monitor cleaner to clean it.
• You can even prepare homemade LCD/LED cleaner. Just add 40% white vinegar with 60% distilled water. 
•  To clean up mouse, clean it with soft cloth damped with little white vinegar and water.  In case of cleaning old ball mouse, take out the ball first. 
•  If any liquid or semi-liquid spills over your keyboard, immediately shut down your computer and overturn the keyboard. Use hair dryer to dry the keyboard.

Camera:

• Keep Camera cleaning kit for regular cleaning your camera.
• Use soft brush or soft tissue to clean dust and dirt on the lenses.
• Do not spray liquid over the lenses.
• Never rub hard your lenses even with tissues.
• Your camera lense may get fungus, if remains idle for a long period, so preserve them along with Silica Gel bag. It will absorb excess moisture.

Cell Phone:

•  To wipe out dirt or finger print over the cell phone use damp soft cloth.
•  If this does not work, you may use little detergent or white vinegar, stains will be gone.

Television:

• Unplug the power source before attempting to clean your television.
• Do not spray directly over the screen. Apply little white vinegar or cleaning spray on paper towel and wipe.
• Use vacuum cleaner to clean the back of your television.

Optical Devices:

• Optical Devices like CD/DVD player malfunctions if they are dusty. So clean them few alternate days.
• Vacuum cleaner and blower are good instruments to clean them.
• Sometimes disk player cleaning disks works fine too.

Oven:

• Try not to pre-heat oven beforehand.  Use the oven till it is hot inside.
• Never keep the oven door open.
• Add vinegar/lemon juice to soft cloth and clean your oven. This will also make the inner odor disappear .

Other General Tips:

•  To keep your computer well running use Anti Virus and Anti Malware.  Update them on regular basis.
•  Back-up your Computer, Camera, Mobile data on regular basis. They may become life saver for you.
• At times of outing try best to choose the cleanliest bag to pack your gadgets.
