Tea: Variants and Benefits

Camellia sinensis is the scientific name of Tea plant. The buds and leaves are used to produce the popular beverage Tea.  It originates from the eastern world and spreads all over the world from China and Indian sub continent.  This tea is mainly cultivated in China, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.


Variants of Tea:

Depending on the processing of process types of tea is determined.

Usually the black tea we drink is processed through oxidation-fermentation. In this way tea gets more caffeine and less polyphenol.

On the other hand, when tea is processed through steam, we get green tea. Green tea contains more polyphenol  and less caffeine. So green tea is more active as anti-oxidant.


Benefits of Tea:

The polyphenol tea contains, flavonoid is the prominent. Flavonoid is very beneficial disease fighting Anti-oxidant.

It fights cancer and helps blood circulation.

It also helpful for neurological problems like Parkinson or alzheimers.

Proofs have been found that Green Tea helps to reduce weight and fat.
